The Activity Gantt chart and the EPS pages will occasionally fail to load due to the client JRE crashing. This is more likely when the browser is running on a network with high latency (more than 50ms). Therefore, P6 Release 8.0 was only certified to work with JRE version 1.6.0_20.

This fixpack introduces a new P6 Administrator application setting under Application called "Use JNLP when launching applets". This setting is true by default, so when the fixpack is installed, it will use the new JNLP mode of launching the applets.
h 34|v=8d Once installed, this fixpack will allow JRE versions 1.6.0_21 and later to work properly with P6. This new mode of launching applets is still compatible with JRE 1.6.0_20 and earlier.
